Affogato: Vanilla Ice Cream & a shot of espresso

Now that the Summer weather has finally arrived, I'd like to share another one of my quick, easy recipes: Vanilla Ice Cream topped with an espresso shot, or "Affogato." Feel free to use this certified halal coffee with Vegan ice cream as well! All you need is: one package of your favorite Organo Gold coffee, a shot glass, a bowl or cup, ice cream.

1 - Boil Water
2 - Prepare your ice cream in a bowl or cup
3 - Pour the coffee powder into a shot glass
4- Once the water is done boiling, slowly add water to the shot glass and stir until completed mixed together
5- Pour the coffee shot over ice cream.

Your end result should look like this:

A girlfriend and I tried this recently and fell in love, not to mention, Organo Gold's coffee, with the added health benefit of Ganoderma Lucidum, is so delicious and healthy for you. The Transformation: From Black Coffee to Espresso shot

A girlfriend and partner in the business is a serious coffee addict, and let me know that not only was she having multiple Organo Gold beverages a day, but she was also turning the arabica, Ganoderm-infused black coffee into an espresso shot! Here's how she did it. All you need is: 1 pkg of Organo Gold Black Coffee, water, a shot glass:

1- Boil Water
2 - As the water boils, pour the Organo Gold Black Coffee into a shot glass
3 - Once the water is done boiling, slowly add hot water to the shot glass, and stir

That's it! It is so simple. Having worked as a Lead Barista at a coffee shop, I was never a fan of drinking a straight shot unless it was ristretto and mixed with Half & Half, but I must say, given the quality of the bean, the black coffee makes for a smooth, very tasty espresso shot. Green Tea

The Green Tea is fabulous! Both the tea AND Ganoderma extract are 100% certified organic. "But it has caffeine in it!" Iced Coffee: How to 'summer' your coffee beverages

 "Coffee is too hot to drink during the summer!" No, not really. Here's how you can change your favorite hot beverage into something more...cool. All you need is your Organo Gold coffee beverage, hot water, ice cubes, and a cocktail shaker, cup, or measuring cup. I personally use a measuring cup because it makes pouring from one cup to another less messy:

1 - Open the Organo Gold coffee beverage and pour it into a cup
2 - Add boiling hot water & mix
3 - Add a little extra sweetener or sugar (the ice will water down the beverage a little)
4 - Fill a cocktail shaker, cup or measuring cup with ice
5 - Add the hot coffee to the cocktail shaker or cup filled with ice. If you used a cocktail shaker, shake vigorously for about 5-10 seconds or until the coffee beverage is cool. If you used a cup or measuring cup (what I used), stir for about 2 or 3 seconds
6 -  Fill up your favorite coffee cup or travel mug with ice and pour your now cool drink over ice
7 - Add whip cream or whatever toppings (nutmeg, caramel, etc), on top.

It is important not to shake or stir your beverage too long or the coffee beverage will be watered down. Also, in order to activate the health benefits of the Organo Gold beverages, it is important to add hot water first, then cool the beverages.

"Save those coffee grounds" or "How to 'Green' your coffee."

Believe it or not, your used coffee grounds can be recycled and used as mulch for your garden. Here is a direct quote: "Worms like coffee grounds, so this encourages the worms into activity thus aerating the soil and providing oxygen to plant roots and incorporating nutrients into the soil." Acid-loving plants, such as lemon trees and strawberry & blueberry plants need the acid to grow. So instead of throwing those coffee grounds out, reuse them!

Can one use Organo Gold coffee grounds as mulch? Absolutely! A business partner of mine decided to use her Organo Gold Jamaica Blue Mountain coffee grounds in her garden to see what would become of her Serrano peppers. Not only did the peppers grow, but they grew quickly. Here is a picture:

"Put some Windex on it!" -- The tale of a multipurpose toothpaste

"My Big Fat Greek Wedding" was and still is one of my favorite movies. If anyone in the family was sick or had skin issues--from pimples to rashes--the father's answer was "Put some Windex on it!"
